The Hike Within
Am I asleep, Am I awake,
I ask myself,The VOICE within-
It says, “I am You; do you not know thyself.”
I try to befriend; I try to acknowledge.
I try to comprehend,I try to embrace,
I never knew it’s not a puzzle that I needed to understand.
To reach to the “VOICE”
I have to peel the layers of self,
The layers of self-doubt,
The layers of anguish,
The layers of resistance,
The layers of anger and ego!
A few steps ahead a few steps back,
But I know no other way,
Then to trust and move ahead
To hike within, to hike within!

Growing up in the creative and culturally rich environment of Assam – a prominent North Eastern state of India, I began painting in my childhood days. With all its vibrant colours and activity, Mother Nature inspired me to paint using my
perspective.
In the course of my life I moved to New Delhi and after completing my MBA started working in the field of Finance and Investments. Soon after my old hobby turned into passion and became a milestone in my life. My wonderful and creative journey as a Painter began. I attained my education in Fine Arts securing First Class First with distinction from South Delhi Polytechnic for Women guided by eminent practising artists of today.
With time flowing by I have added various mediums to my repertoire. In addition to using oil as a medium for realistic painting, I now use more acrylic colours to create textures for my works.
With my four years of academic training and two additional years of work at my studio at South Delhi Polytechnic for Women under the guidance of my eminent mentor and teachers, I have tried to create an amalgamation of works reflecting my experiences and thoughts.
In the year 2016, my work was selected by IFACS for its annual exhibition. I have been participating in various Group Shows, the last was in Aug 2017 at the Open Palm Gallery, India Habitat Centre, which was widely appreciated.
